Nithi College is determined to give you the most up-to-date information at the pre-enrolment phase, this is to assure you that the qualification you are enrolling into is the right industry qualification for you. The Pre-enrolment phase is broken down into the following 3 steps:

Step 1:

  1. Complete some research, speak to people working within the industry, understand the specific industry area you are looking at getting into.
  2. Find out want qualification best suits the need of your chosen industry position.
  3. Jump onto www.training.gov.au (The website that has all of the Australian Vocational Education qualifications information in it) and then search for what providers offer the qualification you are interested in completing… Then ask them the following (6) six questions:
  • Course entry requirements – What am I expected to know prior to enrolling into the course (what skills and knowledge do I need)?
  • Course duration – What is the duration of the course, how long will it take me to complete the course?
  • Course delivery  – How is the course delivered (is it full-time, part-time, during the day, evening or weekends, face to face on online)?
  • Course assessment – How is the course assessed and is it flexible i.e. Written test, practical observation and can I choose when or how I will get assessed?
  • Course Trainers – Who are the trainer/s, what qualifications do they hold  and how current is there industry experience?
  • Course Investment – How much does the course cost and can I pay it off or is there any funding available?

As you can see there are many questions that you should ask before enrolling into a course, but don’t get stressed, Nithi College is here to help you through your learning journey!

Course Enrolment

To enrol into any ‘Nationally Recognised Accredited Qualification/Course’ you will be required to complete an ‘Enrolment Form’, this form captures the information that all RTO’s (Registered Training Organisations) are required to gather for the Australian government, this information is also used to help ascertain if you have the necessary current skills and knowledge to successfully complete the course prior to completing your enrolment.

Information to help you understand why you are being asked to complete your enrolment form is:

  1. Where were you born?
  2. What is your native language?
  3. How well do you speak English?
  4. What level of schooling have you successfully completed?
  5. What experience (skills and knowledge) do you have within the industry you are about to study?

There are a few others but all of these questions are asked to help your chosen training organisation understand if you are ready and able to successfully complete your enrolled course.

Another thing you will be asked to provide is your identification (Generally photo Id i.e. Drivers licence and/or a Passport) you will also be asked to supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier Number), if you have never enrolled into a Nationally recognised course in Australia band been asked to supply your USI you will be required to get one, it is very easy to do and it doesn’t cost you anything.
The following link will allow you to understand the importance of the USI and also how to check if you have one or to create one:

If you have any questions relating to your USI, please feel free to contact the Nithi College admin team.
