This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks on a variety of diesel engines and associated systems within the automotive service and repair sector. The Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology is intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing mechanical work in the diesel engine service and repair sector.
Recognition is available upon request for students with prior skills, experience, knowledge, or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area. Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.
Illoura College is committed to supporting students with the necessary technology to successfully complete their studies.
High-speed internet is available across the college campus to assist with learning, research, and access to online systems. Computers may be available during scheduled classroom sessions where required. However, Illoura College operates a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach. Students are required to bring and maintain their own laptop or computer to complete assessments, coursework, and self-study activities both on and off campus.
Please note that the training kitchen do not have computers available. Students attending practical sessions must bring their own device to access learning resources and complete required tasks.

- Processor: Intel i3 (8th Generation or higher) or equivalent

Computer Skills Requirement
Students are expected to have basic computer skills, including:

Assessment Requirements
The majority of assessment tasks must be completed using a computer and reliable internet access. Students must therefore have consistent access to a suitable device and internet connection to successfully meet course requirements.
Students enrolling in the AUR31520 Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology at Illoura College must possess the physical capability to safely undertake tasks associated with the construction industry. This includes, but is not limited to, manual handling activities such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment.
Students are expected to perform these tasks in accordance with established workplace health and safety (WHS) practices. A reasonable level of physical fitness, mobility, strength, and coordination is required to participate effectively in practical training and on-site activities.
An Enrolment Fee of AU$250 (non-tuition fee) is payable at the time of enrolment. This fee applies to all students (Domestic and International).
International students are required to hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their student visa.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees are not fixed for the duration of your enrolment and are reviewed annually. Tuition fees and course duration may vary if the student has applied for advanced standing and has been granted credit transfer (CT).
Resource Fees
Resource fees are a mandatory charge payable to Illoura College and must be paid in advance as part of the course fees.
Material Fees
Material fees apply only to selected courses and are charged where required, based on course-specific requirements.
