Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have frontline management accountabilities.
Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

Delivery Schedule
Duration
- • 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of study and 12 weeks of holidays.
- • * Duration may vary if the student has applied for advanced standing and been granted credit transfer (CT).
Schedule Details
- • Classes are scheduled for 2 days per week, with 10 hours of scheduled training each day, totalling 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
- • Students are also required to undertake a self-study component outside the scheduled class hours.
- • As this is a full-time course, students are expected to attend and participate in a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
Training & Assessment
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition is available upon request for students with prior skills, experience, knowledge, or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area. Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.
Hardware/Software requirements
Illoura College is committed to supporting students with the necessary technology to successfully complete their studies.
High-speed internet is available across the college campus to assist with learning, research, and access to online systems. Computers may be available during scheduled classroom sessions where required. However, Illoura College operates a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach. Students are required to bring and maintain their own laptop or computer to complete assessments, coursework, and self-study activities both on and off campus.

Students must ensure their device meets the following minimum specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 10 (Windows 11 preferred)
- Processor: Intel i3 (8th Generation or higher) or equivalent
- Memory (RAM): Minimum 8 GB
- Software: Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word)
- Internet Access: Ability to connect to reliable internet
Software Access
Illoura College provides all current students with access to Microsoft 365 applications as part of their enrolment.
If you do not have access to Microsoft 365 apps, please contact the IT Helpdesk at helpdesk@illoura.edu.au for assistance.
Computer Skills Requirement
Students are expected to have basic computer skills, including:
- Using word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word)
- Accessing online learning platforms
- Managing files and documents
- Using internet browsers and email
Assessment Requirements
The majority of assessment tasks must be completed using a computer and reliable internet access. Students must therefore have consistent access to a suitable device and internet connection to successfully meet course requirements.
Other Charges at the Time of Enrolment
An Enrolment Fee of AUD $250 (non-tuition fee) is payable at the time of enrolment. This fee applies to all students (Domestic and International).
International students are required to hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their student visa.

- Completion of BSB40120 Certificate IV of Business OR
- Completion of high school studies equivalent to Australian Year 12.

English Language Requirements
For international students requiring evidence of English language proficiency:
Exemptions: Applicants may be exempt from providing evidence of English language proficiency if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Citizen or passport holder of the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, or Ireland
- Completed studies in Australia, such as an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education
- Successfully completed an AQF Certificate III qualification or higher
- Currently studying in Australia and have undertaken at least six months of study at AQF Certificate III level or higher
Validity:
The English language test must be valid at the time of enrolment and must have been completed within two (2) years prior to the student's enrolment application date.

Pre-Enrolment Requirement – LLND Assessment
As part of the pre-enrolment process, students enrolling in Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses may be required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment. Illoura College uses LLN Robot, an online system that provides Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing, course profiling analysis, and learner support identification. If the assessment identifies that a student may need additional support, the college may:
- Provide Language, Literacy, Numeracy or Digital support,
- Recommend additional learning assistance, or
- Advise the student on alternative training options that may be more suitable.
Completing the LLND assessment does not guarantee enrolment, but it helps ensure that students are placed in courses that are appropriate for their skills, abilities, and learning needs.
Qualification Pathway
After completing this qualification, the students may progress to Advanced diploma in business management.

Diploma of Business
An ACSF Course Profile is a collection of the analyses of the required ACSF Core Skill levels of the Units of Competency that make up the qualification that we are delivering.
Illoura College uses a purpose-built diagnostic tool created by LLN Robot to determine the required ACSF Core Skill levels of a Unit of Competency.
The Course Profile outlines the ACSF Core Skill level requirements a Learner will be expected to be at upon completion of their training.
