Illoura College recognises that personal, emotional, social, health or financial difficulties may affect a student’s wellbeing, attendance and academic progress.
A Student Support Officer can listen to concerns, provide initial guidance and help students identify an appropriate external counselling, mental health or community service.
- confidential initial discussion and wellbeing check;
- information about internal and external support options;
- referral to qualified counselling or health professionals;
- academic or attendance support when personal circumstances affect study;
- reasonable adjustment where appropriate; and
- an individual support or intervention plan where required.
Illoura College staff are not psychologists, doctors or crisis-response professionals unless specifically qualified and appointed in that role. They cannot diagnose conditions or provide clinical treatment.
